Food Service
During my dietetic internship, I promoted healthy eating habits by hosting cooking demonstrations at The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, I helped with the universities recipe development to be incorporated into the menu. Through this internship, I was able to gain the knowledge on recipe development, forecasting, inventory, food preparation, customer service, and food safety implementation.
Evaluations and Reflections
Throughout the food service rotation, I submitted self evaluations and reflections to document my experience. Having weekly reflections allowed me to assess what food service competencies I was achieving each week as well as establishing short-term goals to sharpen my dietetic skills. At the end of the food service rotation, I completed final evaluations to reflect on my experience throughout the rotation and examine my growth. Click on the icons below for examples of my refections and preceptor and self-evaluations (CRDN 5.1).
